Co-founder of the worlds best restaurant Claus Meyer shares his dream about revitalizing the Nordic food culture by fostering local agriculture, encouraging environmentally friendly production, and turning consumers into co-producers.

For more than 20 years, Claus Meyer has been pointing out shortcomings and possibilities within the Danish food culture. Through food policy business, lectures, participation in the public food debate and his TV-programmes and cookbooks he has tried to show the way to a higher quality of food and meals. Claus Meyer is the chief evangelist of the New Nordic Cuisine Movement and co-founder/co-owner of Noma – awarded best restaurant in the world in 2010 and 2011. He has published 17 cookbooks in Denmark and is the host of the international TV Show “New Scandinavian Cooking”. He holds the Knight of the Order of the Dannebro.

During recent years, Claus Meyer has become involved in extensive product development projects under the brand name Meyerfood which aims towards making tasty ingredients and refined products with a special story of origin broadly available on the Danish market.

In April 2005, Claus Meyer opened Meyers Deli; a ground-breaking fusion of informal dining, grocery store, coffeshop and take-away. Claus also established NordicFoodLab in 2008 together with chef René Redzepi (noma). A non profit foodlaboratory

Today the Meyer Group employs more than 400 people.
